 | "Youth Interplay has been a very memorable experience. The tutors have been so helpful and given useful and honest advice. By seeing the plays performed I have gained a deeper understanding of the elements which need to be incorporated into a script in order to allow the performance to run smoothly and maintain an audience's attention." - Youth Interplay Delegate |

 | About Youth Interplay |
 |
 | The Youth Interplay Festival is an incredible opportunity for young playwrights (aged 13 - 17) to come face to face with like minded peers, professional dramaturges and youth arts workers to learn more about the craft of writing and be involved in and observe the transformation of the written word into live performance.
Youth Interplay is an event that takes young playwrights seriously and is a great way to try out an Interplay festival before applying to World Interplay when you reach eighteen. In many ways, Youth Interplay is like a very compacted World Interplay festival - it happens over a shorter period of time (3 days) and there is only a limited number of participants which means you get more attention.
Playwrights come away from Youth Interplay with an understanding of the theatrical process from page to stage, a set of skills to use in their own theatre-making, a bunch of friends and future collaborators, greater awareness of playwriting trends around the world, and above all, inspiration! |
