Young playwrights came from across Australia and the world to attend World Interplay, including delegations from Holland, Turkey, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, Croatia, USA, New Zealand and China. The festival also welcomed tutors from Mexico, Bulgaria, Turkey, Holland, Germany, USA, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany and Australia. This year World Interplay also introduced the Festival Ambassador program. Young, local Cairns actors volunteered their skills in exchange for participation in Base Groups and Workshop.
