Brisbane Interplay is made possible by the generous support of Brisbane City Council and Arts Queensland and is a four-day event of intensive script development for young Brisbane playwrights aged 13-26 with professional playwrights, dramaturgs and directors.

A special project for 13-17 year olds
Changing Skylines is an inspiring project taking place within the 13-17 year old Brisbane Interplay base group.

Young playwrights will have the opportunity to immerse themselves with historic, contemporary and future views and horizons of Brisbane while developing their writing skills and together producing a short play about the people and places that make up this vibrant city.

This project will enable young writers to use local history, their environment, interviews and research as a launching pad for their imagination.

Imagery, music, physical activities, improvisations and visualisations will form an energetic and fun basis to the writing workshops, offering unconventional and dynamic approaches to the art of playwriting.

Participants have the opportunity to present their combined work in an informal presentation on the last day of the festival, open to family, friends and the general public.
